I'm in the planning stages for frame 4, a go-fast-ish 700c road bike with classic road geometry. I'll be using PegoRichie and Newvex lugs. I don't race, my goal is a frame with long ride comfort and stability that doesn't handle like a semi, and that pays homage to the classic road bikes of the 70's. I know from my previous frames that this will fit me, but the geometry is a bit tighter than my earlier efforts. Here's the plan:

On the right track? Good? Bad? The drawing shows 700x28 tires, and has 1cm clearance to the seat tube...will this be enough if I use horizontal dropouts? Were chainstays a bit longer 40 years ago? I remember reading that the bikes that Merckx rode had 420+ mm chainstays. I also went for close to max brake reach with short reach brakes.
Thanks!
Pete
