Join the crowd. Lots of that here. I had a laproscopic inguina repair done 2 1/2 months before Ballers. Three days of thumbsucking than I was back to gentle riding. It comes back fast.

Every case is different. I would listen to you surgeon for instructions. I was told to walk often, after several weeks start on a stationary trainer, and then after 6 weeks
I could ride on the bike path. My surgeon is a cyclist so he knows what he is doing. I am fine now, surgery 4.10.14 (there are pics here of it) and have ridden 7-8 hours on the bike over the past few weeks, pain free.
Old thread, but I just had surgery yesterday and thought I'd share. Procedure went smoothly from what I can tell. Hardest thing was getting moving after the anesthesia. Must less pain and swelling afterwards than I expected. Hopefully recovery progresses and I can get back to riding in a few weeks. Got cycling trips planned in July and August that I'm counting on for my mental health!
In 2021, I had an emergency appendectomy via laparoscopic surgery. My surgeon is a runner; he told me to take three weeks before riding. I followed his advice and had no issues. I did lots of walking.
