The Brickskeller- it’s closing

Just heard that the building that houses The Brickskeller in DC is being sold and the bar is likely closing before Xmas. This is a bummer- I remember telling my dad about it when I moved to DC, and him telling me they used to go during road trips in college. Lots and lots of my friends have heard similar from their older relatives.
1,000 bottled beers, dark downstairs interior- on a cold winter day it could feel like an old English inn from the 1800’s.

On the plus side, the owners also run RFD which focuses more on food and has a mere 40 beers on tap, so maybe they will find a way to expand on that or open a 2nd location.

We went to RFD when in DC. The beer selection was great. The food and service...not so much.

My wife is a Georgetown U alum, she will be crushed. Sad day for beer lovers!

Word on the street is that they will remain an "beer oriented" establishment.
I say burn it down.
