Wheeled briefcase suggestions please

The wife has had a Victorinox for a number of years that has served well, carries computer, files, etc. After one return for recent repairs, it seems to have lived it's life in full. What say those who use such an item? I searched these forums but came up empty for the wheelie deal. Thanks.

I'm on my second TravelPro 22" expandable suiter in 25 years and about 2,000,000 air miles. Not the lowest grade piece of luggage and certainly not the highest grade, but it's worked well for me. I also find that luggage lasts much longer when you can avoid checking it.

About 10 years ago, the Costco Kirkland rollers were as good or better than B&R, Tumi, et al. Not sure about today, haven't been looking in a while.

At the time, Kirkland bags were basic black, had break away zipper pulls, effective internal organization, a rigid collapsible handle, great bearings in the wheels... I used one for many years. Still have it.

When I got married in '06 we received a bunch of Tumi bags. The Tumi Alpha series bags have been more or less on par with the Kirkland bags, appear to be standard issue in biz class, and Tumi has been great about occasional warranty work for busted zips.

FWIW, I fly about 150 segments annually, so my bags get a decent workout. I carry on 99% of the time.

If Costco still has the same basic black rollers with ballistic nylon construction for $79 or $99, it might be hard to justify $500+ or whatever B&R / Tumi ask...
