The man you'd like to have as your next door neighbor, in his garage with his tools, whistling and making stuff.
Dan Fuller, local bicycle enthusiast
When I worked at Tonka Toys in the 80s we had our own “Eddy Goldfarb”.
He made a wind-up 1950s Ford pick-up that would wiggle and shed all of the fenders and body parts and then reassemble itself while it was rolling on the floor.
We also had the Zing Test for new toys that used an aluminum molding base and a 50’ rubber tube. Place truck in end of stretched tube and let go. Zing!
A very stressful business toy design but if you had the talent a good time.
THAT is some man. Thanks for the link.
Thanks for posting this -- what a great little story! I also loved Stompers as a kid and still have 6 or 7 of mine up in the attic somewhere. One of my favorite toys. They would climb over anything.
When you got a new one and opened the package the squishy foam tires had a distinct smell I can still remember today...
I watched that commercial and smiled as if I was 7 years old.

This is a heartwarming story. A life well lived.
I had the red Bronco! The dogs didn't trust it.
I so want to see the film! Some people just have the magic.
