    Default Short Films / Documentaries

Had the local film festival this weekend and saw some great stuff. I'm sure there's more out there, whatdoya got?? Give a brief synopsis too.

This one is fun :: Sunnyside Drive :: boy thinks his new neighbor is a robot

The Amazing Anti-Fart Formula - the title pretty well sums it up I think.

The Hopeless Journey. A crackhead mom gives up her daughter to a whore/crack house for a hit. This one is really hard to watch. Very well done, but it's not a fun time. Had my wife in tears at the end.

Why do people feel the need to list all of their bikes in their signature?

Everyone who came to D2 should watch this, filmed in Franklin County in 1973, which documents farmers still working the land as it had been since white settlement. Full of wit and wisdom.

I was looking at the westface of Namcha Barwa which is one of the hardest unclimbed routes left at 3300m face. That region of the Namcha Barwa Himals is sliced by a river and has the deepest gorge at 18,000 deep Tsangpo. The peaks of Namcha Barwa (7,782m) and Gyala Peri (7,294m) are only 22km apart and split by the river. This is an old film from 2002. It is sick if you look at it in 3d on google earth

One of the 1981 US K-1 slalom paddlers died here in the late 80's on an attempt to run the gorge. The boats were like 80lbs and couldn't maneuver in the white water.

This looks like a fun film festival -- all bicycling films. They are looking for sponsors, but anyone in Chicago-land can check out an already organized event at The Athenaeum on Sept 14.
