Default How to ship automobile wheels and tires?

We have a couple of auto transactions happening in the family (and I am the fleet manager, still).

We’re orphaning two sets of OEM alloy wheels with decent snow tires on them, so I’d like so sell them on the eBizzle. Their shipping calculator comes up with some wild-ass numbers. But Tire Rack seems to do it reasonably, I recall like $120 to get one of the sets here.

Any ideas on the best way to ship a full set of 195/65-R15’s on 15”x6” rims with OEM lugnuts?

Old Dominion Trucking and their ilk have calculators based on dimension and weight. You might need to crate the wheels.

Greyhound used to be the low buck option. That is replaced by "uship".
