Bird poop etched paint

Not sure if its from us or the dealership/prior owner (more likely), but somehow bird poop sat unnoticed on the roof of our newish xc90 and etched the paint. I just tried NuFinish Scratch Doctor and dulled it slightly but its still there. I didn't bother to put wax on top in case there's something else I can try. Any suggestions?

poop = acid and will etch paint (some types of glass too) fairly quickly. If the etching is not to deep and it really really bothers you, you can try wet sanding/polishing the spot but I would leave that to the experts.

What sine said. Go see a good body shop or detailer. Most likely it is in the clear coat and it will need to be wet sanded and/or re-cleared.

You can clay bar the entire area of where the poop hit that way it matches. Dont just do the small area where you got bombed because it will show.

Another option is to use a cleaner wax but it does not have as much giddy up as the clay bar option does.

Or just stop caring about it. It's on the roof. As you said it sat unnoticed for a while, there is a good reason.
