    Default Pinning Joints

Got the main tubes mitered, lugs re-shaped for my desired angles and fit into my jig. I'm thinking about "pinning", I like the idea of being able to check before brazing. I have some questions. I am planning on using finish nails and tapering them. How many per joint? I've seen pics and there seems to be no "Standard". "Pre-Drill" the lugs before drilling thru both the tube and lug? Drill size? I have read #51 drill. I assume that the pins get fit "Loose" before flux and "tight" after flux? Any and all pinning tips would be appreciated.

Everything fits tight dry. It's how you hold the alignment. Taper the nails to give you that fit. Go to RS's Flickr page. Copy his pinning. It's been perfected and honed. No need to reinvent the wheel, unless less you're a reinventer.
