    Default IPhone6 Plus: cases

Is anyone using the recently released Lifeproof case for the Iphone 6 Plus?
They just became available locally and would appreciate real world feedback.

My wife has a Otter Box Defender, which looks just like a lifeproof and loves the thing. She takes the 6 plus everywhere.

Joe, I think the Otterbox is not waterproof?

I've used an Otter Box for several years. Can't count the times I've dropped it on the job site. It's a little bulky but it lives up to its rep.

Recently switched to a Mophie battery pack case and although not as protective I like the extended battery life it gives me.

Are you wondering about the Fre or Nuud case? Nuud having an open screen, but still waterproof. Fre having a cover over the screen?

If the latter, it works, but the quality isn't as nice as it was with the 5 case. In my opinion. Feels more flimsy, but that also minimizes the bulk. Definitely waterproof. I won't use any other case brand.

Problem solved. Picked up the Lifeproof Nuud case at the big box store with a shameless return policy. I've only had it 1/2 a day and yeah it's perfect. The case is no more bulky than what I was already used to and everything work as advertised.

Now I can toss my phone in my jersey pocket without a sleeve and dance in the rain unabated.

How easy is it to get the phone in and out? Is it a case where you put the phone in and leave it in all the time or just for rides and other dirty activites?

Nuud, schmood - never heard of it. But if Too Tall endorses it, you can buy with confidence. Whether it be bar tape, razors, coffee, whathaveyou - he's never been wrong. My life is richer because I follow his lead. I haven't seen or heard of Nuud but now I know Nuud is right. Where is the sub-forum "TT's picks"?

Ha! Good to hear from you Dave.

Matt, you install the phone into the case. The case itself is a plastic shell with a window which exposes the entire iphone screen. Weather proofing is accomplished using a o-ring. This case snaps together over the iphone. Thus the "Nuud" name? The phones screen is exposed to the air uncovered so "touch" operations are unaffected by additional screen protection. I do have a tempered glass screen protector pre-existing and the case still fits.

Still loving it. As you might expect the speaker volume is slightly diminished. All buttons are easy to operate and access to the charging port seems fine. No surprises.

T2, can people hear you with that case?

Can you type and reach the top and bottom drawers? I've heard that the front bezel encroaches on UI space.

    FYI Otter owns Lifeproof.

People hear me just fine. I experience none of the problems noted in the various reviews with the exception of speaker volume which is slightly diminished.

The the UI space is unaffected.

Dunno Dustin, it is the "tempered glass" cover that Verizon (robbed me) installed when I purchased. Most likely this one: Tempered Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 6 Plus - Verizon Wireless

Fair warning, use the supplied screen cover if you want this case to work 100% as spec'd since the tempered glass does increase the screen thickness at top/bottom thus forcing the "O" ring to compress more than it should. Using a loop I can see some air space and I'm prolly going to remove the tempered glass screen cover and use what they gave me....don't be like me ;)
