This is glass in the Sachs/ Crumpton realm as an analogy.
I joined VS a while back to lurk and learn before embarking on frame building, something i've been keen on for ages. At the same time I also took a hot glass class cause it looked kinda interesting.... be careful folks that shit is addictive. I'm hooked and spend my days thinking of ways to do more hot work.
So cool.
My dad was a chemist, and every once in a while we would go in to work with him and get taken around.
The one memory that really stands out, aside from all the eyewash stations (and the drawers of chemicals in my dad's basement workshop), was when we would go see his friend Adolph. He was about maybe mid 50's (hard to tell when you're younger than ten), and he did most (all?) of the glass blowing for the company. He would show us what he could do, making beakers and test tubes and all kinds of cool stuff and I remember watching the flow of the melted glass...
