What do you do when your wife is away for a weekend, you have some blocks of stock kicking around the shop, and there are two jobs that grate very heavily on your OCDness? You put your sub-apprentice level machine skills to the test and make this...



Set lower bottle boss height at the front of the block, align phase with miter, tighten wing nuts...



Pop out block and bring to mill or drill press.



Install 1/4" drill. Zing. Zing. Come back, loosen wing nuts, set seat tube breather hole height on back on block, align phase with miter, tighten wing nuts...



Pop out block and bring to mill or drill press.



Take out 1/4" drill and install 5/16" drill. Zing. Three perfect holes, in phase, at the correct locations.



I can now sleep well at night.

Tubus, why do they drill their racks 6.3mm when frames have used M5 for 60 years
easy to zip a 6mm drill through if you need to open up a 5mm hole
but the other way is pain..........................

This is the bike that got me started with framebuilding. The very first time I put a brazing torch to a bike was when I cut out the crash damaged rear triangle and replaced it, converting the bike to single-speed in the process. It's been reborn with a fresh lick of powdercoat as a commuter for a friend of mine...



... after I made a new fork to replace the one I mangled when I reversed into a parking garage with the bike on the roof. The fork, like the frame is new-old-stock Columbus SLX. Long Shen crown and socket style drops. The new owner, or perhaps custodian, is stoked to say the least.

And started out mocking up POP for a Spooky Concept Store. No Shit.


Can't get much shit done in 15 minutes but hopefully it'll sell some bikes tomorrow.

Just a few quick shots of recent activities. Not much luster compared to Mr. Kirk's glam shots.
A Nihola for my ING homies. Orange and white detailing to do still. It is a rediculous thing to paint. The drop-outs scrape the walls as it spins around. Nicknamed The Boat. I need a bigger booth.
A TN cross machine.
And some wheels. Easy, like a dream compared to the boat.
