Nicely done....did you make the rest of the chairs or did you purchase and replace slats with ski? I, also, have been wanting to do this.

I made the whole shebang. My wife bought me the plans and all it takes is some 5/4 pt decking, some screws and follow the templates. Pretty easy with a 12 pack.

I found some plans from Yankee mag to do this as well but after thinking about their design, couldnt figure out how to make it actually be stable with some fat asses sitting. Didnt seem to have any real strength to it.
Google the plans from Yankee and let me know if you can figure it out!

skichair.com crazy right? I believe the plans were around $50. Once I got them I had some extra copies made at a copy place to make sure I didnt f up the originals. I havent made an ottoman and have no desire to.

Try calling/email him. Seems a little wired the way the site works. If you don't get anywhere pm me and maybe we can work something out.

I attended the Proctor Academy graduation on Saturday, and afterward, while cruising around campus, stumbled upon these chairs and was reminded of this thread. I was told by my 14-year-old cousin-of-sorts that they were a senior project. Very cool.

I raced on those Salomons BITD. Rad. Very cool projects!

We have a local guy (skichair.com) that sponsors a bunch of us for the Tuesday night beer league. I guess there's a decent market for these. You could have a little side gig going!
