Lyon is cool and the food is great. Don't listen to Lionel. He probably hates good mustard anyway.

Be careful when saying to not listen to Lionel. He and fellow Salonista and builder Sebastien created two incredibly awesome rides in the south of France. He loves bikes and knows a good route when he sees one.

I don't know about American schools but if you're name is Kim Jong Un you can attend English language schools in Switzerland. They are likely not too far from the area you are referencing and they are excellent schools. I have a Spanish friend here at work who attended one and he turned out well. They aren't cheap.

If I had the opportunity to live in France I would do it. I love it there. It's on my short, short list of places to spend a LOT of time when I am done working.

Are you just day dreaming Joost or is this a real thing? I think it would be awesome. The food, the wine, the riding... come on. The only thing you'd miss is the Pacific, and IPA.

I'll bring IPA if you get a guest cottage for me, Houston. Sure, that may seem like a tall order, but it's friggin' I.P.A.

Do it or it'll be a road not taken... We'll miss you and all, but at least we'll have a crash pad in Lyon.

    P.S. Take me with you.

A good IPA may be difficult to find in Lyon. That's a good offer.

This. Not a day goes bye that my wife and I don't lament the two missed opportunities (Sydney and London) that her former employer almost took us. Damn financial collapses.

There is so much good belgie beer in Europe that you will not be wanting for an IPA.

Is there anywhere in France that the food is bad? (McDonalds does not count). Even the average is going to be great.

Yeah, but Lyon is very well know in France for great food. Not light food ;)

Most americans cannot appreciate Andouillette though

+1... But it is paradoxal, good food, fat but people are slim... Seriously, great place but weather in lyon is a little special, it's surrounde by little mountains with two big rivers, so summer is warm and automn is foggy...to ride you have a lot of possibilities, by the north you have beaujolais, by the west "monts du lyonnais" and with the car alps are not far and Lionel with two hours... A lot of teams are in Lyon, vaulx en velin is one of the most famous with an elite team, but CT Lyon and ECOV are great (i have a good friend in ECOV). For the schools no problem there are a lot of universities, good high schools with a lot of no-french people, and schools for english people...it is also very well connected with train and internarional airports ( st exupery and geneva airports)
