Opening an old thread with a question about MW longevity. We have a GE Spacemaker II from 1985...not kidding...actually made in the US...that still functions. Is there a point that these things go Three Mile Island on you and warrant replacement?

You'll know when it happens.
Each successive microwave seem to last about half as long as the one it replaced. My 80s vintage one lasted a long time.
