I've sewn facemasks, friends have made some and they all .
What about neck gaiters?

Yes sir.
I ordered a set of nine off amazon. They're cheap and I don't expect them to last but they seem to getting the job done by getting me into public places.
I also ordered Rickie's gaiter. RSCX Team Colsino R - Richard Sachs Cycles It may be a little warm during the summer but it's a nice piece.

If the process is more important than the result, you play. If the result is more important than the process, you work.
I have a couple of neck gaiters of varying material thickness. They are more comfortable fitting, but even the thin ones get warmer then a mask when worn inside.

Apparently, my fingers are muscle memory-ed into a K when prefixed by an RIC. At least that's my story...

if don't shave for a few days and wear one, my facial scruff likes to pull them down when talking. gets annoying. that said, i haven't even tried a mask.

I rode with one today and like it better than the sewn cloth mask and disposable masks I've tried riding with. The neck gaiter is easier to operate one-handed so I was able to keep it off my face entirely when no one was around and pull it up over my nose & mouth as needed. On a longer ride with stops I'd also bring a sewn/disposable masks as I think they're better for going into a store and similar situations.
