I live next to Riverside Church in Manhattan.
Last night the rain and the winds were gale force.
A 6 story plastic tarp on the construction ripped off and was hanging by the top and whipping violently like a sail on an old clipper ship.
Around 2:30 am the bells of the church started to ring. All of them.
I thought I was dreaming or sleepwalking so I went to the other room and opened the window. The wind tried to suck me out.
Sure enough I could hear all the bells. Went on for at least an hour.
Or so I thought but I can find no mention of it today.. Perhaps I was dreaming after all.
Anyhow, Happy Holidays to all! And to the 2:30 Quasimodo.
The Cassoulet pot is on the stove.
