Roasted coffee beans

I've been hooked on the Tonx (plug, you can get $10 a month of it by using this: https://tonx.org/2c7fc5f9), which is out of LA and does small batches of different coffees every two weeks and sends it to you fresh. It's on the pricy side, compared to my other favorite, La Colombe, which is local-ish to here. What I'm wondering is if anyone has a good source for half bags of good espresso beans. I don't drink espresso everyday, so I don't want a full bag as they get stale by the time I finish them, but I don't want to dip into the Tonx for espresso, as my better half would rather she also get to enjoy it in the morning and not run out of it before the next bag shows up. Any suggestions?

Yo Ben,

Not sure what you consider a "half bag" as weights differ by roaster. Most roasters seem to be have gone the route of a 12 oz. bag being the standard, while a few I've used still stick to the 16 oz. format.

In any event, I'll throw this out as a 12 oz. bag option:

I've really, really been digging the offerings from Fresh Off the Roast here in DC, their storefront having the name Qualia Coffee. They're up on Georgia Ave. in Petworth, and they do mail order. The Rwanda A+ Gatare Station was outta this world good. I went back to reload and they didn't have any available, so I picked up some Papua New Guinea Sigri A, which has been great as well. Zombie thread revival...

Looking for some suggestions on mail order beans from funky small roasters. Mid-Atlantic is a plus for location for shipping speed. Roasters I tend to frequent (no order of preference):

Cafe Grumpy (NY)
Homestead Coffee (PA)
Small World (NJ)
Coffee Corral (NJ)
Rook Coffee (NJ)
Rojo's Roastery (NJ)

I also have a buddy who has gotten into roasting and hands me 6-8oz of his latest during TT season. Tried the famous Geisha last year which was cool.

My tastes run toward stronger coffees and I use a French press. Guatemala, Ethiopia, Honduras beans seem to do it for me.

Throw out some roastery names, unlike sew-up rim cement, coffee experimentation is fun.

I had the Geisha a few times last year too! My wife: You spend $X on Tues at the coffee shop? Me: I had a few coffees ........ pause ......... ok, it was one special edition coffee.

Spectrum Cycleworks in PA is supposed to be pretty good. You may have to order a frame to get beans roasted though.
