Men's scarves

Queen has had enough with my absconding her wool scarves.
Do you have a good recommend for something that is not itchy and is woven vs knit. I say
"woven" because I like less bulk.

Am I getting old??? Scarves??? Reading glasses??? What's next???

I'm a big fan of the 3-for-$15 pashminas you can find in any Chinatown in America. Plenty soft, work just fine and are cheap enough to be disposable/perma-lend to your date/use as emergency backwoods toilet paper/stanch blood flow. (My dates are Raphaesque epics.) Plus you can buy the absurd colors you'd never buy if they were $60 apiece and you (I) could only afford one.

Also, Toots, according to DC area hepcats, its uncouth to wear a scarf with a peacoat. Just something to be aware of. Which brings me to the time I got the Washington City Paper to print the C-word.

i only wear/buy wool or cashmere scarves in all-black. right now i have at least 6 of them from brooks brothers and pendleton in heavy rotation atmo.

only pendleton -- still have ls shirts from back in the 60's -- plaids match and nice neck-yoke swatch of cool/comfy sewn in.. some still-like-new scarves too..

Pendelton - YES.

Typed as I lounge here in my Pendelton sweater that I wear when I commute by bike.

I'm big on the Scottish stuff - fall and winter plaids from mom.

Agree wrt Pendleton and BB. Seems like those are mine and others most enduring clothing items. I'm off to do some shopping.

Chase in all seriousness, giggidty giggidty. At 6'8" I don't have to worry about fashion in the broader sense. I'm a walking crime ;)

I have a Pendleton muffler that I've had since I was about 14 years old. My Father gave it to my Grandfather (the ultimate miser on all levels) for Christmas. My Grandfather didn't want it (becuase it cost more than $.50) so he gave it to me that very same Christmas day. My Father and Grandfather are now dead and think of them both every day I wear it.

The warmest piece of deer stand clothing I own is a fleece neck gaiter. A cold breeze down the back will chill you to the core. I've worn scarves as well when a bit more fashion is called for, had a nice merino wool back when I wore suits for a living.

3 for $25 last year from a guy outside Reading Terminal Market. One gray and 2 plaids that are colorful enough to coordinate with just about anything. Just as nice as the lambswool/cashmere blends that cost $75 at Brooks Brothers.

I bought a nice scarf from Dents in the UK recently. They offer lambswool and cashmere. Pricey given the exchange rates, but when it's 45F and damp in the UK, you need something for your neck. They had some nice crochet-backed lomg-fingered driving gloves that caught my eye, but that's a purchase for another day.

So many good sources, actually. The ones from Brooks Bros. and Pendleton are very nice.
