    Default DC Pastrami, no kidding

Ok, I don't know where this goes, but we've got a number of folks on the board in the greater DC area. If you have any affection for pastrami -- the real deal, no, it's not good for you, and no, not the stuff they sell at the safeway "deli" counter, get thee to Georgetown, of all places. 28th & P, Stachowski meats. This is a new, old school, quality little butcher shop -- the sort that does it's own charcuterie. Everything looks good. The pastrami -- mmmm -- haven't found it's ilk south of bridge or tunnel.

REALLY?! Thanks man, I'm all about the pastrami, hot mustard, rye bread disaster AND that shop is on my bicycle commute route. Score.

Yes! I have been on the hunt for a new source for charcuterie to stand alongside the cheeses from the Cowgirl Creamery downtown.

So this is kind of interesting. The usual story of a kid from a working class Polish American family that makes its own sausage, grows up on a farm outside of Buffalo, and then goes to work for Jean-Louis Palladin:
