Shipping a container across country. Best POD etc??

So My little mom is terminal and I'm heading to Boston tomorrow to help dissolve her estate. She has some stuff I want and will need a to pack a smallish container with some artifacts. Does anyone know who has the best rates and is easiest to work with? I'm assuming this will be pretty expensive? Any experiences will be of help! Thanks!

Check out uShip | The Online Shipping Marketplace. I have sent everything from cars to pianos across the country.
Also Greyhound or any other bus lines will "ship" stuff for you for super competitive rates, as long as you package it and pick it up from a bus terminal. Its actually really easy.

I just shipped a bunch of boxes via FedEx from Pittsburgh to Seattle and it cost about $1/# in FedEx supplied boxes which were 20"x20"x12" and 20"x20"x16". We were able to fit about 30# of items per box. It took four business days to arrive from the time that we shipped and by establishing a FedEx account, we received a 10% discount. If you need to ship furniture and other large items, there are companies that will ship "by the room" and I saw a cross country quote for a studio apartment that was $2K.
