    Default World Series

I could care less about either of these teams but there is some crazy good baseball going on.

I’m glad the good baseball has started to take center stage because this postseason was at risk of being known as much for some seriously horrid officiating as the exciting games.

Well I think the commentators completely missed the big deal on the interference call. The Astros 1st baseman brilliantly let go of his glove after missing the ball. I mean c'mon, the number of times the first baseman gets his glove whacked on a play every year? And if there is a country of players who know all the rules & tricks of baseball by reflex, it is Cuba where Gurriel is from. He was playing for an interference call. And he got it. If the glove hadn't come off, there wouldn't have been a call. Brilliant! Unfortunately for the Astros it didn't help their bullpen!

    First time ever.
That’s a lot of disappointed ticket holders.

My hat is off to the team whose home-town crowd gave the current version of a Bronx cheer to the orange baby.

I have always liked baseball but these days I find the games just too long.
    Tension yes, great plays yes...
Simply too long for me to watch.
Good for the Nationals and Scherzer...
I watched 5 innings and he scratched and dug and reached back.

Midnight is too late unless it happens to be a home team and sometimes not even then.

Agreed. Here now on the west coast, i PVR the Toronto games,
so i can watch them in about 2 hours, starting at a reasonable hour.
There is a lot of baseball in a season, and it should be a second near full time job
to watch your home team. NBA has this figured out.

There were some articles written recently with suggestions to shorten the game,
a pitch clock was one. A time-suck in the post season is pitching changes, and
then the warm up pitches when they finally get to the mound after all the conferences
and delays. I say give them 45 seconds to get to the mound and go. No tossing
to the catcher, just go. The current situation totally kills the tension, usually players
on base standing around for 10 minutes as the commercial breaks, warm ups, catcher
visits, it stalls the most drama of the game.

Haven't the games always been long? That's part of the dance.

    Yes we’ve just gotten shorter.
